WARDEN’S COURT.

At a sitting of the Warden’s Court on Wednesday, before Mr F. O’B. Loughnan, SMj, the deferred application from J. M. Cadigan for water rights from Hunter’s Creek, Wakamarina came up for decision. An objection was lodged by the Dominion Consolidated Developing Company, who also applied for the same water rights. Mr C. H. Mills, appearing for Mr Cadigan, claimed that Cadigan was entitled to priority. He stated that there were no pipes leading from the water-race in question, except in one case, the tap connected with which was now left running continuously, considerably reducing the volume of the other three leads.

The Warden granted Cadigan’s application, with the condition that the existing domestic supply was to be retained efficiently; all supply pipes for domestic purposes to have taps which are not to be allowed to run to waste; and in the event of such water being allowed tc run to waste the licensee may cut off the water. The Dominion Consolidated Company’s application for water race to compressor was granted and restricted to present intake of 2-inch reducing to 1-inch.

J. M. Cadigan’s application for certificate of easement was granted for a period of 21 days, for the purpose of constructing and maintaining water race, and for the purpose of removing fluming, sand, slimes, and other materials placed upon the battery site by applicant
