COUNTER-ATTACK REPULSED. MUCH AERIAL ACTIVITY. LONDON. April 29. A French communique says: An artillery duel is proceeding in Champagne. We smashed a German attack east of Auberive. Three Gorman aeroplanes were brought clown on Thursday, in addition to six seriously damaged and forced to descend. One of our air squadron bombed stations and bivouacs in the region of Ribemont and Crecy-sur-Scrrc. Since the 16th inst. we have captured 175 heavy and field guns, 412 machine guns, 119 trench mortars, and 20.780 prisoners. We made progress in the Ostel region and on the Chemiu-des-Dameg. Everywhere else all is quiet.
