Earl Nelson, who died last week, aged 90, w<s a great neph w of the famous Trafalgar bero, and had betn for 78 years a member of the House. The Bishop of Nelson preached in Christchurch Cathedral on Tuesday last on behalf of the British and Foreign Bible Society. Lady Scott, widow of the late Captain Scott, was the guest of the Hon. H. D. Bell during her brief stay in Wellington. General regret is expressed at the projected departure of Mr and Mrs A. G. Bugget, who intend to leave shortly to take up their residence in Wellington, Mr and Mrs A. Jellyman, of Havelock, intend leaving the district shortly for Richmond (near Nelson). Mr Jellyman is taking up fruit-, growing and farming generally. He will be much missed in local sporting and athletic circles, being an owner of race-horses, steward of the Havelock Hack Racing Club, and an enthusiastic hookey player.
