UNDECIDED WINS THE CUP Wellington, Jan. 20. The Wellington Racing Club’s summer meeting opened to-day in doubt* ful weather. Short showers fell early in the day, but the weather cleared up as the day progressed. The attendance was on the short side. Some interesting racing was witnessed although the fields were not large. The youngster event was a gift for Styx, who bad no trouble in annexing the event. The Gup produced a field of 14, and a capital race ensued. Undecided was a surprise packet. He came right from the ruck about two furlongs from home and the rest of the field were not in the hunt, The Telegraph Handicap proved a good race, Dearest securing a win after a good inside effort, but was disqualified, for failing to draw the weight. The totalisator figures for the day were £22,675 10s, against £19,807 for the corresponding ’day last year. Following are the results

Trentham Welter Handicap; Bladeny 1, Odessa 2, Tunia 3. Won by a neck; time 1.44 1-5. Anniversary Welter Handicap : Eclogue 1, Beacon 2, St Felix 3. Won by half a length ; time 1.44 1-5. Electric Handicap: Gladiole 1, Naumai 2, Ascalon 3. Won by a length; time 1.2 2-5. Nursery Handicap : Styx 1, Canute 2, Warlight 3. Won by three lengths ; time 49 2-5. Wellington Cup, 850 so vs, li miles; Undecided 1, Midnight Sun 2, Coromandel 3. The field got away in a line, which was broken by Coromandel going to the front followed by Midnight Sun, who displaced Coromandel at the bend, and entering the straight Undecided went up from the ruck and won easily by two lengths ; time 2.34 4-5. Trial Plate : Outward 1, Kiragua 2, St Petersburg 3. Won by four lengths ; time 1.29 1-5. Ruapehu Handicap ; Sanguinary 1, Dirge 2, Sinapis 3. Won by a head ; time 1.16 1-5. Telegraph Handicap : Nyland 1, Culprit 2, Equitas 3. Won by two lengths ; time 1.15 1-5.
