A Sydney Murder Case.

Sydney, Nov. 18,. At the inquest on the girl Una Cover, who was murdered by a farm labourer named Lawless, Mrs Cover stated tbat when Lawless arrived at the homestead he appeared friendly and had lunch. Later he complained' that witness was not “ the same old mate ” as ahe'used tobe, She.replied that she hoped they would always be friends. Lawless then declared that he wanted more than friendship. Witness replied “ That can never be.” The next she knew was hearing the report of the rifle and she felt a shot in the head. She heard another shot, and Lawless said “Una is dead,” and that be was going to set Are to the house. While witness was running away Lawless shot at her twice, but she escaped with her two children and walked to a neighbour four miles away. Lawless was committed for trial on a charge of murder. " ■
