A Dreadful Tragedy.

New York, April 12. Futther details are available regarding the disaster in the Banner mine, at Littleton, a colliery town in Jefferson County, Alabama. Of the 200 men entombed by the explosion over 100 are dead. The victims were mostlynegro convict labourers, and at present only a few bodies can be recovered, owing to the presence of black damp in the workings. Forty-five of the workers, notici-g the black damp, dashed in the direction of the shaft, and were rescued in the nick of time.
