WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALE

Murray, Eoberts and Od. report, under date 2nd December : We submitted a catalogue of 25 bales of wool, principally oddments, 3000 sheepskins, and about 400 hides and calfskins. The attendance of buyers was about as large as usual and competition brisk, prices being well maintained for sheepskins, while hides showed au advance from an eighth to a farthing a lb. Tallow was slightly easier in price, but the offerings were meagre and of poor quality. Prices ruling may be quoted as under:— WOOL. Crossbred 7Jd to 8f d per lb. Dead fd to B|d per lb. Pieces and bellies 5Ad to 7|d per lb. Locks lid to 4d per lb, SHEEPSKINS. Crossbred, medium, fine 7sd to 7§d per lb. Crossbred, coarse tid to 7d per lb, Crossbred, dead, inferior 4|d to 6d per lb. Crossbred, badly damaged 2|d to 4d per lb, Lambs, short, inferior 3d to sgd per lb. Crossbred, green, damp 5s to 7s each Lambs, spring, damp 1/5 to 2s each HIDES. Ox, heavy 7sd to 7£d per lb. Ox, medium G§d to 7£d per lb. Ox, light ,6id to egdperlb, Cows, good, med., light 6sd to 6|d per lb. Cow, fair 6|d to 6§d per lb. Cow, slippy, damaged 3£d to ssd per lb. Btags 5d to s|d per lb.
