A VETERAN’S SUDDEN DEATH.

MR JOHN HEBERLEY DROPS DEAD. We received information last night that Mr John Heberley, of Queen Charlotte Sound, dropped d ad at Invercargill yesterday. Deceased, who was 76 years of age, was one of the pioneers of the Picton Sounds, and had just returned by the Hinemoa from a visit to his three sons at Campbell Island, where they, to* gether with several of the young Nortons, Jacksons, and Toms, are engaged in whaling operations. Mr Heberley leaves a family of five sons and four daughters, who will have the sympathy of numerous friends in Picton and the Sounds who were acquainted with the fine old gentleman.
