BROWNLEE PARK PAVILION.

TO THE EDITOR, Sir,— -Those who attended the football match on Saturday last must have wondered why only about half a dozen of the hundred-odd spectators patronised the famous Pavilion. If you want to know why, Sir, I will let you into the secret. It is because the building is on the wrong side of the ground, and, at the same time, it is too far back and placed at such an angle that if it were full of people only twothirds of the team could see all portions of the field of play. This fact is easily demonstrated while a game is in progress. Another factor against occupation of the Pavilion on Saturday was the keen wind that blew fair into it. Spectators on the opposite side of the ground had their backs to the wind, and so were not troubled by it, The neglect of the Pavilion is of course confirmation of the prophecies of those who opposed its erection on its present site, but it is a poor satisfaction for them to know that their judgment was over-ruled by people who only paid about twenty shillings towards its cost—close on £BO, I believe,—l am, etc., A Few Bob. [The opponents of the erection of the Pavilion on the southern side of the ground contributed 255; the Pavilion cost within a few shillings ol £loo.— Ed. P.G.].
