ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. [By Telegraph—Own Correspondent]. Wellington, Last Night. At Addington yards yesterday there were fair entries of stock and a good attendance. There was practically no change in the prices of fat cattle, and the sheep again sold well. Store Sheep.—There were not many lines of store sheep on offer but all classes met with a very good sale, though the demand was not quite so keen as of late. The principal sales were : Ninety-four 6 and 8-tooth ewes at 18s 9d, 300 broken-mouth 12s sd, 238 2 and 4-tooth wethers 20s lOd, 202 at 20s 2d, 6 and 8-tooth merino wethers 14s to 14s 6d, 212 half bred owe hoggets 18s 3d, 122 mixed sexes 16s 6d, 112 at 16s 6d, 207 at 15s 9d, 84 at 15s 7d, 58 at 14s lOd, 447 shorn at 11s 9d.

Fat Hoggets,—There were 1600 fat hoggets penned. Best lots made 17s to 18s Bd, one pen 20s, and others, takein by graziers, 15s lid to 16s lOd. Fat Sheep.—The yarding of fat sheep was a medium one in point of numbers and of average quality. The range of prices was: Prime wethers 23s 6d to 275, others 20s to 235; prime heavy ewes 20s to 21s lOd, medium 17s 6d to 19s 6d, aged 14s to 17s ; prime merino wethers 17s 4d to 20s sd.

Fat Cattle.—The yarding of fat cattle totalled 254. Steers brought £6 to £lB, heifers £5 2s 6d to £8 17s 6d, and extra to £lO, cows £4 17s 6d to £9 17s 6d, equal to 22s to 24s for prime, and 17s to 21s for inferior to medium per 1001 b. Veal calves sold at 7s 6d to £B. Store and Dairy Cattle.—Good dairy cows sold *up to £8; six heifers averaged £6. Pigs.—There were between 400 and 600 pigs entered. Heavy baconers made 60s to 635, lighter 42s 'to 48s, equal to 3|d to 4d per lb; large porkers 32s to 395, lighter 22s to 28s, equal to 4£d to 4|d per lb; medium stores 17s 6d to 21s 6d, suckers 12s to 17s, weaners 5s 6d to 10s. BUTTER AND CHEESE. London, July 25. The butter market is strong, and all stocks are advancing in price. The prospects for next season are encouraging. Choicest New Zealand brands are selling at 107 s; the stock, however, is small. Danish is quoted at 115 s, and Canadian at 105 s per cwt. The cheese 'market is steady. The New Zealand supply is practically exhausted. White cheese is quoted at 64s and coloured at 60s per cwt. Canadian makes are selling at 68s per cwt. HEMP. . London, July 25. The hemp market is firm owing to speculative demand. There have been some heavy transactions. The price to-day is £33 per ton for g.f.aq., Wellington" grade.
