AFFAIRS IN CHINA. London,January 18. The Chinese Imperial Edict has been issued. It enjoins protection in respect of missionaries and converts; it degrades the former Boxer Civil Governor of Pekin, dismisses the officials and accomplices on the ground that they exaggerated the Boxers occult power and misled the Throne. POLES IN REVOLT. London, January 19. The Poles are organising a great national struggle and an economical boycott against the Germans. The movement is increasing and it is feared that many business people will be completely ruined. The Vatican is energetically supporting the Poles.
