Ministerial Movements.
Christohurch, May 16.
The Minister for Lands to-day received a deputation on the subject of reclaiming Lake Ellesmere. The Minister replied that he had offered the Selwyn County Council a aufficent sum to do the necessary work, and an endowment reserve, the proceeds from which would enable the Council to maintain the work when completed and allow for settlement being effected. The Minister for Education received a number of deputations to-day. On Friday be will leave for Dunedin, where he will give an address on Tuesday next. Wellington, May 15. The Premier leaves for Napier tomorrow morning, and addresses a public meeting on Wednesday night. He returns on Thursday, and proceeds to Greymouth on Friday, where he opens the Greymouth-Hokitika railway. He expects to be absent a week on the coast, and then returns here and goes to Auckland.
