“ Once a Barman,” writing to a Melbourne paper, by way of illustrating the practices of tossing and gambling for drinks which barmen at times encourage, supplies the following curious psychological observation : —“ So great is the advantage that skill and observation give in the latter style of gambling (Ae., tossing), that a barman who knew his customers could nearly always win.
