A telegram, whose importance •cannot well be overrated, appears in this morning’s issue, addressed by Mr. ■Widliamson to Mr. Poynter, by which it will be seen that that for •which we have long contended —a bridge over the Waipaoa river—is to he a fact, and also that the main road to Ormond is to be metalled bv the •General Government. We shall have aomething more to say on this point by and bye, but in the meantime the
settlers have to congratulate themselves on the possession of the means by which they can fight their own battles, and let both Governments see that justice must be done.
