From the information laid before the County Council at its last meeting it would appear that unless immediate action is taken, and the matter pushed with all speed, that we are in imminent danger of losing the thousand pound odd placed on the estimates and voted towards the construction of the ologa Telegraph. We would advise Councillors Gannon and Trimmer to see that the agitation is not allowed to flag, and that the urgent necessity for the work is kept prominently betore the departmental members of the government with whom the question now rests. It would appear that some doubt exists as to the suitability of the rails for the purpose indicated, and that it may be necessary to provide wooden posts in preference to iron ones ; but even if this shou d prove necessary and entail a slight additional expenditure over and above that provided for by Government it w.ll undpubtedly become the duty of the Council, sooner than allow the grant to lapse, to make up the deficiency. I'ologa Bay has undoubtedly a right to ask this much as a slight return for lengthened past neglect.
