(OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Melbourne, Oct. 10. The first day’s races of the Amateur Turf Club's Caulfied Cup meeting took place on Saturday. The weather was miserably wet, and there was only a moderate attendance of the public. His Excellency Lord Augustus Loftus, Governor of New South Wales, was present during the afternoon.
