Fonndering of the s s. Weka.
(own correspondent.) Napier, Monday. The steamer Weka, which sank oft] the breastwork on Friday night last, wag berthed outside the Gleaner from whicq she had been loaded with produce foi Gisborne. It is supposed that .wheq the tide went down she settled on”-»■ boulder, and bored a hole in her bottom. The fire brigade engine was put to pump her till the engine room was cleared sufficiently to allow the fires to be lighted. She was then pumped out and her cargo of flour, &c., was taken out, and a considerable portion found to be damaged.
