(own correspondent.) Melbourne, July 18. The Victorian Agent-General in London having telegraphed that the Agent-General for New South Wales has been instructed that the Federation Enabling Bill will be postponed in order
that extensive alterations may be made, the Victorian Premier has invited other Colonies to protest against the delay, and has received replies from Tasmania, South Australia and Queensland that they are willing to join in the protest. Mr Service has however addressed a communication to the Premier of New South Wales expressing his ■willingness to abandon his opposition to the delay, providedjthe 31st clause of the Federation Enabling Bill in its original form be submitted to the Government of New South Wales.
