WINTER SHOW
PLANS FOR FIXTURE CONDUCT OF STALLS EXECUTIVE MEETING! ' Plans for the forthcoming show were discussed by members of the general committee of the Poverty Bay Winter Show Association at a meeting held to-day. Mr. J. Eivers was in the chair, the following members also being present: Mesdames. A. Baillie, E. S. Redfern, and C. W. Kirk, Messrs. G. W. Armstrong, W. P. Walker, A. Baillie, D. H. Whitton, A. Gordon, J. de v. W. Blathwayt, J. L. Belierby, H. J. Lougher, and the Rev. R. C. Aires. It was decided to endeavour to obtain the same sound system as that used last year for the show and to endeavour to hire the system under similar conditions. The sub-committee set up to consider the lay-out of the hall tendered its report, recommendations brought forward for improvements at the forthcoming show being approved by the general committee. The committee decided that this year the association would solely conduct the sale of soft drinks, sweets and ice creams from its own stalls at‘the show. Additional Entertainment An entertainment committee, consisting of the lady members of the executive and Messrs. G. W. Armstrong, P. Sim, D. H. Whitton and J. L. Belierby, was set up to bring forward recommendations to the next meeting for. further entertainment for patrons. It was decided that in future tenders would be called for the cartage of wool from the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Mea* and Mercantile Company’s store, the venue of the show, to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company’s store. A suggestion that the Tiny Tots tap dance be again held was referred to the Poverty Bay National Dancing Association.
