Sydney.—March 30: Arrived, at Newcastle, Komata, from New Zealand. It.S.A. Membership Campaign Though it now seems certain that 1100 will be passed by the membership roll of the Gisborne Returned Soldiers’ Association for the current financial year, which closes to-morrow, the prospect of reaching last year’s record total of 1218 is not rosy. Last night’s prograss total was 975. and to-day the renewals were coming to hand in a steady streani. but unless to-morrow is an exceptionally heavy day the vear will close with the list still short of ’the record. There are still -about 100 -members of country and Coast sub-associations to be accounted for, and a sufficient, num-ber of ex-service-men could be found in Gisborne to set up a record, if more time was available.
