Basketball Exhibition The exhibition match of indoor basketball, which is to be given by members of .the Gisborne Y.M.C.A. and several ex-Canadian and United States players in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium, is set'down for March 31, and not for Friday or this week, as previously announced.

Macrae Bath Closing-

Following a report from the custodian of the Macrae Bath, Mr It. Le Bas, who recommended that the ba'.h should remain open until after Easter the Cisborne Borough Council last night deputed the Mayor Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P., to deal with the matter according to the weather conditions.

The council decided to book accommodation for two representatives. Nolan ;md Skect, through whom the application for dedication was made. The council decided to accept dedication providing an undertaking vvas received from Miss E. Reston to the effect that neither she, nor any person claiming through, or under her, would call on the council to instal the sewerage in her property for a period of three years. Air-Mindecl Enthusiast To enable himself to see the concluding days of play in the recent cricket match between Auckland and '.he touring English team, a Gisborne follower of the game took a long and round-about trip by plane. Owing to the fact that the Gisborne-Auckland inir service did: not commence operations until Monday, it was necessary tor H'liis 'sportsman to catch the early., morning plane from Gisborne to Napier on Saturday, continue his trip to Pahnersfon North on the same otane and link up with the AucklandWellington plane at Milson aerodrome, Palmerston North. When play was resumed after the lurieheon adjournment on -Saturday the air-minded enthusiast was in his place on the stand. Buses in Childcrs Road A proposal that buses should be run' in Childers road was made at last night's meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council by Cr. H. H. Dc Costa, who stated that now the State houses were being completed the present should be an opportune time to consider a new route down Childers road. The Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman. M.P., said he had discussed the matter on previous occasions with the bus manager, Mr. K. G. Bajl, and agreed that the present time would be appropriate to go further into the proposal, although he did not think that the new run should commence until more houses were occupied in the State scheme. He had thought that a morning and an afternoon run might be suitable. The matter was referred to the bus manager.
