“Don’t imagine that the Russian people are all Communists,” said Colonel F. J. Miles, secretary of the Russian Missionary Society, when addressing a meeting in Auckland. Ho said that that party in Russia had never numbered more than 11,000,000 out of 180,000,000. and to-day it numbered 1,751,000. It ruled by the power of the Red Army, which was well fed, well housed and well paid. Despite every persecution, the Christian community had increased from 100,000 to 0,000,000.
