PIGEON FLYING
, CENTRAL SOCIETY .CHAMPIONSHIP PACE A young-bird championship race was-flown by the Poverty Bay Central Homing Pigeon Society on Saturday, the pigeons being liberated at Takapau at 11 a.m. Fair conditions prevailed lor the race, the winner beine T. Crosby's Lady Pam, which clocked in at 2.38 p.m. The first eight birds home were:— T, Crosby's Lady Pam, 1050.1yds. per min., 1; J. McLean's Blue Diamond, 1048.7yd5. per min., 2; J. McLean's entry, 1045.1yd5. per min., 3; J. McLean's Blue Pearl, 1043.8yd5. per min. 4: 3t. Hall's Regent Minstrel, 1041.0 ydl per min., 5; C. Waldock's blue checker, 1035.7yd5. per min., 6; C. Waldock's red checker, 1033.5yd5. per mift., 7; M. Royds' entry, 1032.3yd5. per min., & r Next week a race will be flown from Woodville, an airline distance of 163 mileg.
