DOCTOR SEEKS LEAVE
PRIVY COUNCIL APPEAL AWARD BY JURY „ (I'er Pross Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The' Court of Appeal was engaged this morning on hearing an application on behalf cf Dr. Dean for conditional leave to appeal to the Privy Council against the decision of a Palmerston North jury giving judgment against him on the ground of alleged negligence in respect of treatment of a patient. The argument'involves the question as to whether sufficient, amount was involved to enable the Court of Appeal to give leave and a further point as to whether the decision of the Court of Appeal in upholding the verdict of the jury can be appealed lrom in this instance. The hearing is proceeding. (
