SERVICE IN BRITAIN PITIFUL STORIES TOLD (Reed. March 15, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON. March 14. The official report of a commission of inquiry into the anti-tuberculosis service in Wales and Monmouthshire discloses pitiful stories of living conditions. The report accuses the local authorities of preventing the recommendations of medical officers becoming effective. The report pays a tribute to wives and mothers living in what are described as “hell houses.”
