THE WEATHER Last Night's Forecast General Situation: The anticyclone which covers New Zealand is centred to the east. A depression is located over the western Tasman, but il appears to be losing intensity. Forecast: Winds light to moderate but freshening north-east to northwest. A south-westerly change If possible to-morrow in the southern part of the South Island. Seas: In New Zealand waters, slight to moderate but later rising somewhat in Cook Strait. Eastern Tasman: Light to moderate but freshening north-east to north-west winds, changing to southerlies later in the southern portion: seas, slight lo moderate but rising in western areas. Weather: Fair to fine generally at first, with rising temperatures, scattered rains developing to-morrow in western and .southern portions of the South Island. To-day's North Island Report Blue skies were reported this morning at GiSborne and Napier, but overcast conditions prevailed elsewhere in the North Island. Light southerly hree7.es were blowing at Fast Cape and Tight to moderate north-easterlies elsewhere. The barometer had continued the rising movement.
