FLYING BOAT MISHAP

CAPELLA HOLED BADLY PASSENGERS TRANSHIPPED (Reed March 13, 2 p.m.) BATAVIA, March 12. The flying boat Capella, when approaching a mooring buoy, struck a submerged object and was holed and began leaking badly. The passengers and baggage were removed : in a boat and the Capella was beached, partly submerged.

The mails and passengers are continuing to Europe in accordance with the normal schedule. A relief machine was flown from Singapore, and is making night landings at Singapore and Penang to catch up the time.
