Mr. D. F. Muir, of the literary staff of the Poverty Bay Herald, will commence a six-months' furlough on March 19, having planned a tour to the United Kingdom. Mr. J. J. Jones, late of the Daily Mail, Hastings, has been appointed temporarily to the Herald staff. The chief postmaster at Gisbornc, Mr. A. M. Robertson, starts his annual leave to-morrow and, with Mrs. Robertson, will visit Auckland. Mr. Robertson's duties in Gisborne will be undertaken during his absence by Mr. A. W. Swap, relieving postmaster. Wellington. Mr. Gordon A. Hultquist, member for the Bay of Plenty electorate, whr has been visiting Gisborne, left today for Tolaga Bay. where he will address a meeting this evening. During the week he will be visiting other townships on the Coast and addressing meetings, returning to GisbornP on Friday morning. Mr. Hultquist expects to return to the Bay of Plenty during the next week-end.
