RAIN SPOILS TWO DAYS

CRICKET TEST MATCH ONE-DAY GAME NOW (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. So far not a ball has been bowled in the cricket test match between Sir Julien Calm's touring cricket team and the New Zealand eleven. Rain prevented play on Friday and, to the intense disappointment of thousands of spectators, the wind veered round to the south on Saturday morning and brought such frequent showers that the wicket was unfit for play in the morning. The captains, D. A. Moloney, New Zealand, and G. F. H. Heane, English team, decided again to inspect the wicket at 2 o'clock, but rain set in in earnest at about 1.45, and play was declared off for the day. The game will now resolve itself into a one-day match to-day. A suggestion has been made that the match against Auckland on Friday, Saturday and Monday next should be converted into a match between the New Zealand team and Sir Julien Cahn's eleven.
