*». MAROONED ALPINISTS AVALANCHES BOMBED (Reed. March 11, 2 p.m.) LONDON, March 10. The Times Berne correspondent says that bomb throwers, by releasing the avalanches, liberated the alpine troops who were snowed up in the Wildstrubel hut, but a fresh avalanche swept down a distance of 500 ft. ' Five members of the rearguard had been roped together, and rescuers found them, several with ribs broken, and carried them down by sledge to Lenk, where English tourists and the populace greeted them. Seventy men are still imprisoned at Wildhorn hut. Though lacking food, they are attempting to make the descent to-morrow, carrying the bodies of four dead comrades.
