The Spanish Republican Defence Minister. General Casado, in a broadcast at Madrid to-day stated: "Our patience has ended. We have no respect for those disordering the life of Madrid. Repression is beginning with the necessary violence.
Defence Council troops drove out Communists from positions in the eastern district of Madrid taking 14.000 prisoners.
A wireless massage from Almena announces that a fierce light took place in a studio in which nine Communists were killed.'; ~ ••■'? , Burgos reports the reception of a wireless message from Madrid stating that, the Republicans, after a sharp fight using tanks and armoured cars, carried the Communist stronghold in the Plaza Manuel Becerra. A mysterious unconfirmed radio from Madrid stated that Communists were spreading a report that General Miaja was preparing to open the gates of the city to General Franco.
