CARELESS MOTORISTS
STOCK INJURED ON ROADS COUNTY COUNCIL COMMENT Concern at the number of cases of injury to stock caused by motorists while stock was being driven along roadways was expressed at a recent meeting of the Rotorua County Council. Mr. S. B. Murray, who raised the matter, said that the increase in the number of accidents involving stocfc was becoming alarming and required immediate attention. The chairman. Mr. H. P. Ford said that on one day four lots of stock had been struck by motorists on one road in the district. Mr. Murray moved that it be suggested to the Commissioner of Transport that, when a motorist collided with stock, his car should be detained J until it had been examined by the authorities and certified as fit to proceed. The motion was adopted.
