LONDON MEAT MARKETS MUTTON TRADE SLACK LAMB CONSUMPTION GOOD (Par Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board reports as follows on the Smithfield Market for the period ended March 9:— "Lamb. —Lower prices in the lamb market stimulated consumption, which is now good for this time of the year, "Mutton.—New season's wethers show improved prices, but the demand is quiet. Trade in owes remains slow. "Beef.—Frozen beef prices are unchanged* and trade is la.r. Chilled beef prices are weaker on account of heavy supplies.
