PROTEST BY SECRETARY
COUNCIL, DEFENDED
(Per Press Association.) NAPIER, this day
A protest by the secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association Mr. I-I. 'McCormick, against a suggestion that the council flouted remits from the annual conference of centre delegates marked a discussion at the conference yesterday on a proposal to abandon the conference in favour of the attendance of delegates at the annual meeting of the association with full voting power. Mr. A. Benson, West Coast, North Island, contended it was a waste of time attending the conference as, in most cases, the remits were “out” as far as the association was concerned. Mr. McCormick denied the association took no notice of the remits Eighty per cent of the remits submitted from the past three conferences had been adopted. “I desire to protest against the suggestion that the council (louts remits or does not fully consider them,” Mr. McCormick said The motion was carried.
