A message from Rome states that Signor Gayda, writing in the Giornale d’Kalia, says that Italy will not tolerate the presence l of the Spanish Republican fleet in Bizerta, in Tunisia, for long as it constitutes a danger to Sicily. The Bizerta correspondent of The Times reports that a member of the crew of the Republican cruiser Miguel de Cervantes said that Spanish Nationalist aircraft heavily bombed the Republican fleet when it left Cartagena on Sunday, sinking three destroyers whose crews perished as other ships were unable to render assistance.
