The Bizerta correspondent of The Times reports that a member of the crew of the Republican cruiser Miguel de Cervantes said that Spanish Nationalist aircraft heavily bombed the Republican fleet when it left Cartagena on Sunday, sinking three destroyers whose crews perished as other ships were unable to render assistance.
