PAINFUL ORDEAL
24 HOURS IN OR UN After lying in a paddock behind a haystack for 24 hours with injuries to the spine, a youth who was knocked down by a motor car on Saturday was found on Sunday afternoon. The victim was Robert Brown, aged 18, farmhand, employed bv Mr. R. M. Thompson, of Gordon, Te Aroha. The youth was found on the farm of Mr. Mbnk, about 10 miles from the farm where he is employed. Ole was lying behind a haystack so that he was hidden from the road, which is about four or five chains away. He was conscious and said he had been there about 24 hours, lie was able to state later that he had a bicycle with him, but whether he was riding the machine or not at the lime lie did not remember. He was hit by a car and that was the- last thing lie could remember.
