BOOKS ON CHINA
X.Z. RHODES SCHOLAR LONDON, Feb. 2. Mr. .Tames Bertram. Auckland, 1932 Rhodes Scholar, has completed Ins second book on China. Its early publication is announced by Macmillan. The title will be “North China Front.” There will be simultaneous publication in the United States under the title of “LTnconquered.” Mr. Bertram is hoping to return to China early in the spring, but his plans are not finally decided. At present lie is doing a considerable amount of talking and writing about China, and he is working with the China Campaign Committee on Medical Relief, Japanese boycott, and so forth. During tiro last few days Mr. Bertram has been visiting Trinity College, Cambridge. Mr. Bertram’s earlier book on China i,s prominently featured in the window of the High Commissioner’s Office alongside books of other wellknown New Zealand writers.
