An application for a taxi stand license on the ground that a vacancy had been created by a breach of flic by-laws on the part of one of the existing licensees, was made by Mr. D A. McCallum to the Borough Council last night. Mr. McCallum wrote that one vehicle was off the stand for a greater period of seven days without the permission of the traffic inspector. The council ruled that no vacancy had been created.
