HOME SIDE DEFEATED
GAME WITH SWIFTS
(Herald Correspondent.) A cricket team representing Swifts, Limited, Wairoa, paid a visit to Morere last week-end and defeated the Morere representatives in a match which was decided on the first innings. A summary of the scores is given below:— Swifts. —First innings, 205 (Martin (15, Crisp 56, Peebles 29, Heslop 26. Stewart; five wickets for 25 runs. Steele two for 47). Morere. —First, Innings, 107 (McCaffery 74, Stewart 23, Broad 18. Steele 16, Watt 14 not. out, extras 28, Crisp five wickets for 51 runs, Martin two for 41).
