Outstanding Race A Gisborne greyhound, L. Ferris' Gay Peter, figured on Saturday in what is claimed to be the finest race seen at the Napier League Park Stadium since its opening. Only three dogs took part in the event, the President’s Stake, and they left the box simultaneously in pursuit of the hare. There was nothing to choose between the three until the last few yards, when Gay Peter scored a narrow victory from China Clipper and Harold Logan, who dead-heated for second place. The winner’s time was 24.’,sec. Other placings of Gisborne interest were. — Encourage Stake. —First Division: L. McCutchecn’s Irish Comet, 3. Second Division: E. Wilkinson’s Golden Streak. 2.
