The Rev. John Duckworth, who is known as “the little curate,” has been appointed to coach the Cambridge crew for the boat race on April 1. He is determiined to infuse the spirit of victory into the Cambridge crew to prevent Oxford achieving its third successive victory. Mr. Duckworth himself was coxswain for Cambridge for three successive years.
He will return to his church at Hull at week-ends to conduct services.
