LIFE IN COUNTRY
AT)I)TNfi TO ATTRACTIONS Sport and social centres round which the life of the rural community would revolve were envisaged by the Minister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb, When speaking in Whangarei. Mr. Webb said that something would have tb be done to make rural life in New Zealand as attractive as town life, so that farmers’ boys and girls would' stay in the country, and boys and girls of city parents would adopt the country life. To ensure this there was need for the provision of a sport and social centre in each district. They would give the social intercourse now so lacking in country life.
