HAWKE’S BAY DRY SPELL
SHEEPFARMERS ANXIOUS CHECK TO FAT LAMBS Rain is required in Hawke’s Bay, particularly in the central parts, if many more lambs than have already been sent to the works are to be finished off during the next month. The prolonged spell of dry weather was welcomed for a while, but there have been signs during the past week or so that lambs are beginning to cease development, and a severe check seems likely unless fain is experienced in the near future. Farmers throughout Hawke’s Bay have experienced disappointing results with their rape crops this season, and, generally speaking, one feed was all that was obtained.
