LONDON, March 5.
A message from Berlin states that the Nazi Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goehbols,|in opening the iLeipzig Fair criticised the -almost inconceivable" size and wealth of the British Empire.
He said that Germany was inadequately treated regarding the distribution of the world's goods and was scarcely able to supply her people with necessary food and minor luxuries. However, the economic programme of Germany was sound commonsense. Germans' must and would live.
■ A me:sage ; from Rome quotes the following, attributed in the Voce d'ltalia to Signor Gayda: "Everything proves that the democracies are heading more rapidly towards war. Thenarmaments are losing their defensive character and assuming an openly offensive one."
Signor Gayda adds: "The fact that for the first time in history the air estimates transcends those of the navy justifies the belief that Britain is preparing to transport troops to the Continent. We have no need to worry about [he astronomical estimates Which Britain is able to afford from the wealth derived from an Empire which denies others. They prove that Mr. Chamberlain's formula of a negotiated peace is changing to peace by intimidation. When the war magazines are tilled Britsfn's ten: will harmonise less with tne of peace."
