OPOTIKI STOCK SALE
DULL SHEEP MARKET An exceptionally good yarding of cattle came forward at the Opotiki stock sale. Prices showed a sharp decline on recent rates. There was a small yarding of nine pens of sheen, but competition was very dull cud, although most lines were sold under the hammer, 'prices dropped back in some instances 4s to 5s a head. The exporters were not in the market at a.'l for boner cows, with the result that prices reached a lower level than has oeen recorded in these yards for some time. Quotations. —Fat cows, good, £5 12s Cd; others, £4 2s to £5; lighter, £3 15s to £4; good forward store cows, to £3; others, £2 as to £2 15s; boners, 17s to 295; potter bulls, to £(1 9s, for an exceptionally heavy bull; others, £4 to £5 15s; lighter. £2 to £3 Ids. Sheep. —A pen of exceptionally good two-tooth wethers on account of the Keenlyside estate. Toatoa. 12-: (id: mixed-age ewes, on account of the same vendor, lis (id; 123 mixed-age ewes, on account of the Butler's estate, were sold at the very low figure of 6s a head.
