Mr. V. Hailes, I-likurnngi, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Cameron, Bushmere. Miss V. Dymock, Auckland, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Dymock, Puha. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Izod and Miss Joan Izod returned this morning after spending the Christmas holidays in Wellington. Miss N. Ap.pleton, Te Karaka, who has completed her B.H.Sc. degree, leaves for Wellington next week to commence duty as dietitian in the Wellington Public Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Pugsley and their granddaughter, Lorna Jones, KClburn, Wellington, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Cameron, Bushmere. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Stacey and family, Wanganui, are staying with Mrs. Stacey's sister, Mrs. F, Stacey, Childers road, while paying a round of visits to Gisborne. Mr. Hugo Wall, who has been on relieving duties in various branches jf the National Bank of New Zealand, returned to Gisborne last evening from Waihi to rejoin the Gisborne branch of the bank. An engagement is announced between William Charles Hugo, only son of Mrs. H. M. B. Marshall, of Pahiatua, and the late Mr. Wm. C. Wall, Wanganui, and Nettie Christina, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fredsberg, Hastings. Friends in Gisborne of the Rev. L. Dawson Thomas, formerly vicar of Holy Trinity and now living in England, will learn with interest that he is making a good recovery from a severe illness, which laid him aside six weeks ago.
