“£10.000” CARPET SOLD FOR £4OO
LONDON, Oct. 19. A carpet used by the coronations ot King Edward \ II and King George V and at the wedding of the Princess Royal was sold for £4OO yesterday at the sale of art treasures collected by Mr. John Helms, Glasgow stockbroker, of Formakin, Renfrewshire It was expected to bring £IO,OOO.
A fifteenth century Persian “garden carpet,” which cost Mr. Holms £15,000, went for £3OOO.
