Hospital Library

Sir, —May I take the liberty of asking you to publish this letter and thus help to support what is undoubtedly a worth-while object, namely, the patients’ library of the Cook Hospital. New books are urgently required foi this, which if donated will help to cheer up those unfortunate people who are forced to be inmates of the hospital at a time when everyone else is holiday making. The Gisborne Rotary Club wishes to apoeal to the general public to join with them in remembering the hospital this Christmas.

Put the hospital on your Christmas list and give a book for the library, or better still, Cash donations will be very acceptable as they will ensure 'that no duplications of books will be made. Our five leading booksellers have promised their wholehearted support and have arranged for the gifts to be set aside for collection later. Might 1 again make this appeal to the public: Remember the hospital library this Christmas and leave your gift, either new books or cash, with any of our leading booksellers and hus help to bring Christmas cheer to those more unfortunate than ourselves. J. MDSC,RAVE.
