The monthly meeting of the Ivawakawa Garden Circle was held at Paldhikura, the residence of Mr. ana Mrs. N. C. Hughes. The November display prizes were given out. The roll call, “Manures and the plants suited,” was well responded to. The social competitions resulted:— Senior. —Naming seed pods: Mrs. H. Fairlie, 1; Mrs. N. Branson, 2. Junior. —Old fashioned flowers: Miss K. Fairlie, 1; Miss D. Cowan, 2. Garden Circle competitions resulted: —Senior.—Cut flowers: Mesdames S. Rudland and H. Fairlie, tie, 1. The blooms were outstanding. Polyanthus roses: Mrs. S, Rudland, 1; Mrs. N. Branson, 2; Mrs. H. Fairlie, 3. Mrs. C. Cowan, h.c. Bulbs: Mrs. H. Fairlie, 1; Mrs. C. Cowan, 2; Mrs. N. Branson, 3. Lettuce: Mrs. H. Clarke, 1; Mrs. P. Taylor, 2; Mrs. H. Fairlie, 3. Juniors.—Decorated bowl: Miss R. Fairlie, 1; Miss C. Halliwell. 2; Miss M. Hughes, 3. Novelty floral design: Miss R. Fairlie, 1: Miss B. Cowan, 2; Miss M. Hughes, 3. Afternoon tea and a stroll in the garden brought the interesting and enjoyable meeting to a close.
