ECHO OF MURDER TRIAL
WIDOW GETS DAMAGES UNLAWFUL KILLING CAPETOWN, Dec. 6. Mrs. Fanny Herman and her baby son were each awarded £SOO in the action in which she sued James William Hodgson for £3OOO damages, alleging the murder of her husband, manager of a pawnshop. Hodgson was acquitted on a charge of murder, and the widow took civil action on the allegation of unlawful killing.
